Etihad Premium Lounge Melbourne Airport Review

Wed, 05 Apr 2017

We had the pleasure to check out the new Etihad Airways lounge at Melbourne Airport en route to the UK last month. And we were pretty impressed.

The lounge, which opened last year, is open and spacious with both dining and relaxing areas with views across the runway. The lounge is large, at 800m2, making it the largest Premium Etihad lounge outside of Abu Dhabi.

With free wifi and plenty of USB and power outlets (multi-zoned), it was a great place to get some work done. Shower facilities are also available packed with delightful Scaramouche + Fandago products.

Also included was a kids room packed with books, games, a TV, colouring in and more to keep the little passengers happy.

We also got a sneak peak at The Residence lounge. This private room is reserved exclusively for passengers flying in The Residence (or VIPs if no Residence passengers are expected). The Residence lounge has it’s own entrance and bathroom, providing the ultimate privacy.

Whilst we were a little disappointed that the new lounge concept no longer includes a full 3 course meal, the a la carte menu was enticing and the food we ate was delicious.

All in all the Etihad Premium Lounge was a fantastic place to relax, and recharge before boarding our long haul flight.

Located in Terminal 2, the lounge opens approx 3 hours before the twice daily Etihad Melbourne - Abu Dhabi flight and is accessible to Etihad business class passengers as well as Silver, Gold and Platinum members of the Etihad Guest loyalty program, and Gold, Platinum, and The The Club Virgin Australia Velocity members flying with Etihad.
