SWISS has opened a new style of lounge at the Zurich airport with a distinct alpine flair and modern food and beverage concept, which will be opened to Miles & More Senators and Star Alliance Gold Members, along with Business Class travellers on SWISS and other Lufthansa Group airlines.

The new lounge offers its visitors a multi-sensual airport lounge experience, the 500-square-metre SWISS Alpine lounge is located in place of the SWISS First Class Lounge in the airport’s terminal A and can accommodate up to 100 travellers.

The lounge blends all of the charms of a rustic mountain hut with all of the contemporary comforts and style familiar SWISS lounges. Featuring light-wood elements and bespoke furniture, made by Swiss craftsfolk. All of the soft furnishings and alpine-style carpets and cushion covers have also been hand-crafted and sourced from Swiss small businesses. Large communal wooden tables and high windows complete the hut-like ambience while providing fabulous views of the airport.

The food served in the lounge also has a rustic flair, the centrepiece of the lounge is a rustic oven which will prepare seasonal dishes, guest can also further tailor the food to their particular taste to help reduce food waste in the lounge.

Local Swiss wines and spirits are also on offer to compliment the food and are served using a new more ecofriendly dispensing system that enhances both the quality of the wine and the lounge’s recycling credentials.

The new SWISS Alpine Lounge is open Mondays to Fridays from 05:30 to 18:30. The lounge is available to Miles & More Senators, Star Alliance Gold Members and Business Class travellers on SWISS and other Lufthansa Group airlines.
