SWISS Airbus A350 Expanding Business Class And First Class Cabins
The cabin configuration has been confirmed for the SWISS Airbus A350-900 (due in 2025), nine months after the Star Alliance member announced that it would be ordering five A350s. The cabin updates feature new Business Class and First Class seating.

The cabin configuration has been confirmed for the SWISS Airbus A350-900, due in 2025. This comes nine months after the Star Alliance member announced that it would be ordering five A350s to replace its less efficient, 4 engine A340 fleet. Featuring the new ‘SWISS Senses’ cabin concept, the expansion of the Premium Economy product will make it the aircraft with the highest number of seats in this class among the airline’s fleet.

SWISS A350 First Class

SWISS has opted for a four-class layout that will seat a total of 242 passengers. There will be 3 available in First Class, 45 in Business Class and 38 in Premium Economy and 156 in Economy Class. Being a partner of the Lufthansa Group, we will see the airline adopt the same ‘Allegris’ First Class suites and Business Class seats as Lufthansa. There will be just one row of First Class on the A350, with each of the three suites enclosed by 1.8m high walls, with a sliding panel that can be closed for privacy.

Other comforts include a personal wardrobe and seat heating and cooling. The centre section, a “Suite Plus”, also allows for two passengers to travel together in one double seat, with the ability to dine and recline together. Uniquely, the seat also turns into a full-sized flat bed without a divider in the middle. Solo passengers will also have the option to book the Suite Plus for extra space.

“Through their carefully-conceived spatial design, all our seating classes aboard our aircraft will offer our guests a totally new and unparallelled air travel experience from 2025 onwards,” says SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour. “With our new cabin concept, we will still remain the only major airline in the world to offer a First Class cabin on all its long-haul aircraft. We will also be increasing the size of our Premium Economy Class, which has proved very popular. And in both these respects, we are further clearly positioning SWISS as Europe’s leading premium airline.”

SWISS A350 Business Class

The Business Class cabin follows the same unique layout of Lufthansa’s ‘Allegris’, with six variations of seating to pick from, allowing a more personalised experience depending on your travel needs. The first four Business Class seats are larger suites with sliding doors, while the middle two can become a double suite. Finally, every second row has a more spacious option for solo travellers.
