The service will also include Auckland as a trans-Tasman leg. This development will strengthen connectivity between Australia and Taiwan while also introducing direct competition with China Airlines, which currently flies to Taipei from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane - as well as EVA Air, which operates between Brisbane to Taipei.
