Air New Zealand has unveiled their plans to open a new flagship Air New Zealand Koru Lounge at Auckland International Airport in late 2026.

Who can visit the New Air New Zealand Lounge?

This new development will become the airline’s most spacious lounge yet. The overall space will be nearly double the size of two lounges and include two separate spaces - one will host Airpoints Elite and Business Premier travellers, meanwhile the second will welcome Airpoints Gold, Star Alliance Gold, Airpoints Silver, and Koru members.

Construction will commence in early 2026 and take place in two phases. Air New Zealand passengers can rest easy as the current lounge will remain open (albeit at a reduced capacity) whilst the work is completed. Once the new lounge is open, the current lounge will also receive a redevelopment and reopen in late 2027.

What Will Be Included?

The airline has stated it aims to cater towards a diverse range of travellers with different areas throughout the Koru Lounge. These sections include:

• Improved Business Areas
  The lounge will include a range of workspaces. From private rooms to single-seating booths. These spaces offer travellers quiet time to focus on work.
• Comfortable Areas to Relax
  The lounge will also host seating to offer passengers a moment of calm before their departure.
• Dedicated family area
  Air New Zealand have included a dedicated family area that’s been thoughtfully designed for those travelling with their children and family.
• Barista Bar
  The airline will also reposition its barista to be much closer to the entrance. This is so those short on time can still recharge quickly.

Air New Zealand's Koru Lounge will include all-new interiors that display and celebrate the beautiful sights and landscapes of Aotearoa (The Māori name for New Zealand). Colours, innovative materials, and unique furnishings have been thoughtfully curated and will come together in a show of lighting and art.
