Spanish flag carrier Iberia Airlines is set to reconnect Spain and Japan with the resumption of its Tokyo flights next year. Starting on October 27th, 2024, the year round service will use Iberia’s flagship Airbus A350, offering the only direct link between two countries. Departing from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, flights will operate on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with returns from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport on Mondays Fridays and Sundays.
This significant route resumption follows alterations to the flight path due to the closure of Russian airspace. Passengers on the round-trip will experience a unique journey, circumnavigating the globe, taking advantage of wind patterns for increased efficiency. Iberia’s commercial and network development and alliances director, María Jesús López Sólas, expressed Iberia Airlines commitment to Asia and the growth potential of the region.
