ANA Business Class Dreamliner Review
On a recent trip to Tokyo, we flew in ANA Business Class Dreamliner, and shared our experience below! Flying out of Sydney, our departure flight was at 11:00am. Having priority lane access to security screening, it made the whole check-in and pre-screening process smooth and seamless.

On a recent trip to Tokyo, we flew in ANA Business Class Dreamliner, and shared our experience below! Flying out of Sydney, our departure flight was at 11:00am. Having priority lane access to security screening, it made the whole check-in and pre-screening process smooth and seamless.

ANA Business Class Dreamliner Cabin Layout

With a 9 hour flight ahead of us, we were glad to be flying with a fully Flat Bed Business Class carrier - so we could fully sit (or lie) back and relax. The ANA Business Class Dreamliner product we flew on was a Boeing 787-9, being relatively modern and more quiet, the key distinguisher with a Dreamliner aircraft. The cabin boasts a 1-2-1 configuration, allowing all Business Class passengers direct aisle access. ANA Business Class Dreamliner has 40 Safran Sky Lounge lll seats with a fully converting 74.5 inch Flat Bed, shoe shelf, and storage cubby beneath the ottoman

We found the seats to feel quite private which is good if you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet. However it was less ideal for us as we were travelling as a couple and found it difficult to communicate with each other due to the fact that the privacy dividers in between the centre-pair seats don’t retract. The footwell onboard our Business Class seat was straight ahead which meant we didn’t have to cram our legs into an angled space - a nice added bonus.

Despite the storage cubby beneath the ottoman, we found barely enough storage space in the seat itself and had to use the overhead bin space to fit most of our belongings. We would like to see more in-seat storage space from ANA Business Class as it became a nuisance when we needed to grab our belongings mid-flight from the above bins. One nice thing was that we didn’t have to share the bins with any other passengers - as each one was catered to one seat.

We found the side table space in a part of our ANA Business Class seats to be quite large in size which was nice as it came to be a good storage spot for headphones, drinks and any other bits and bobs that we collected throughout the flight.

ANA Business Class Dreamliner Inflight Amenities

Each ANA Business Class Dreamliner seat came with universal AC and USB-A sockets. The seat has an 18 inch HD touchscreen display, however given the distance between the screen and the seat, it was easier to use the remote. Overall the technology interface of this ANA Business Class cabin was standard and somewhat clunky.

Entertainment options onboard included a small range of Hollywood films, live TV and an assortment of TV shows - no full episodes. Seat controls and the TV remote control were a bit older, however they were still located in a convenient space on our seats which made it a pleasurable experience.

Inflight wifi is available to purchase onboard and lasts for the entire flight.

We received a mattress topper, pillow, slippers, and L’Occitane products in Globetrotter amenity kit along with toothpaste, toothbrush and other basic toiletries.

A key feature of our ANA Business Class experience was that there was a fully functioning Japanese style bidet on board - offered in the cabin toilets. Whether that is your thing or not, it is certainly not something you see on many aircraft carriers!

ANA Business Class Dreamliner Dining

After settling into our ANA Business Class cabin, we were offered a glass of champagne, which of course we accepted! Albeit it was served in a plastic cup which somewhat took away from the Business Class experience, it was still a nice way to start our journey.

ANA Business Class Dreamliner Drinks

Being a Japanese airline, there were two different menu types - one with more traditional Japanese style meals and the other labeled as ‘International Cuisine’ - which was westernised.

ANA Business Class Dreamliner Seafood Meal

Across both menus the food options were very seafood focused, which is either a positive or negative depending on what you like! For us, we decided to get the Sauteed Salmon with American sauce which was on the westernised menu.

Our salmon was cooked well and tasty overall.

We found the options on the westernised menu to be very limited in choice, which was a bit of a let down.

However the snack menu had some great options onboard - particular mention to the turkey and mozzarella cheese croissant sandwich.

We liked that ANA offered some proper mini-meals onboard in comparison to other carriers which mainly only offer snacks such as nuts or a muffin. This was a nice touch.

ANA Business Class Dreamliner Summary

ANA Business Class

We flew ANA Business Class on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from Sydney to Tokyo and overall had a relaxing and pleasant flight experience.

Our highlights include the smooth check-in process with priority check-in and boarding, fully flat beds with private and enclosed seats with direct aisle access for every passenger, and the on-demand snack menu.

ANA Business Class offers a bidet onboard which is unique but all apart of the Japanese airline experience! Although slightly outdated in some areas such as the interface, we found ANA provided a very decent Business Class experience, especially for the price point they’re known to offer.

If you’re looking for that extra touch of elevated luxury, read about our ‘The Room’ experience - a Qatar Qsuite alternative but with ANA.
