Flights are via Helsinki, one of the easiest and most efficient airports in the world. Pricing depends on your European stopover with fares sold in price tiers. Helsinki is the cheapest arrival point and as a general rule of thumb, the further the flight from Helsinki the more expensive the airfare. For example, Madrid/Lisbon/Nice are their most expensive European destinations. Internal flights can be booked in economy class if business class is unavailable.
Finnair's cheapest prices are based on their non-refundable 'business classic' fare levels which were recently introduced by the airline. Seat allocation is not included on this fare level, but is available for an additional fee [$100-200 per long haul flight]. This may be available free of charge if you are a oneworld Emerald or Sapphire member [e.g. Qantas Gold or Qantas Platinum frequent flyer]. If you do not have priority status via your frequent flyer membership you may want to upgrade to the 'business flex' fare level for free seat allocation. Flex fares also permit cancelling your flights for a small penalty, enquire with your consultant for details.
