Oman Air Business Class Lounge Muscat Review

Wed, 20 Mar 2024

After departing Paris in the evening flying Oman Air Business Class, we landed in Muscat, where we would spend 7 hours before flying to Doha. We took this opportunity to check out the Oman Air Business Class lounge, prior to departing later in the afternoon.

The Oman Air Business Lounge Muscat is open to Oman Air Business Class passengers, as well as Sinbad Gold and Silver members travelling on international flights. With Oman Air set to join the oneworld alliance soon, we will likely see standard oneworld lounge access policies to follow suit. This would mean that all oneworld First and Business Class passengers, along with oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members, would have access to this lounge.

Oman Air Business Lounge Muscat Layout & Seating

The Oman Air Business Lounge is located in the central area of the terminal, right by the duty free shopping. You’ll need to head up to the fifth floor, from the departure level on the fourth floor. Here you’ll find the very lavish exterior to the First and Business Class Lounge.

When entering the lounge we were greeted with gold embellishments and tiled floors - making it a very lavish entrance. The first thing we noticed is how the lounge is built out into separate sections, following a winding path throughout. There are a number of quiet seating zones which allow travellers to separate themselves from main areas.

As you enter the Business Class lounge you are greeted with a dining area followed by expanding views of the tarmac. This is one of the larger areas of the lounge, stretching along floor to ceiling windows with some high-top seating, as well as the bar.

Continuing through this section you’ll find more lounge style seating, and a business lounge with iMac computers. We didn’t use this space but did find it oddly placed in the lounge and not very private or quiet for those looking to get some work done. When making your way through the lounge you’ll find lots of seating against the walls of the winding walkways.

To the left of this long lounge section is a second dining area. When we first entered the lounge at 7am, only the first dining area was open. As the lounge began to fill throughout the day, the second one opened. This allowed for passengers to distribute, and helped prevent too much overcrowding.

Off this second dining area is a relaxation area. In here you’ll find grouped seating arrangements, along with seven angled daybeds that have curtains around them for privacy. There are also four private nap rooms that have fully flat beds with a door. Although they aren’t proper bedrooms like you see in Qatar Airways Doha lounges, they are still good for getting some peace and quiet.

There is also a family room and play area for children, offering families the opportunity to separate themselves from the rest of the lounge.

Oman Air Business Class Lounge Food & Drink

As previously mentioned the Oman Air Business Class Lounge has two dining areas, with the second having an open style kitchen where you can view your meals being prepared. There is also only one bar where alcohol is available. Once lunchtime hit, this was a very popular place to be for international travellers.

Similar food options are available in both dining areas, so in our opinion they are purely built to separate our travellers to avoid overcrowding during peak periods.

We had a 7-hour layover in the lounge, meaning we had breakfast and lunch in the lounge. Both meals were a self-serve buffet and had a nice amount of options. There was a good selection of fresh fruit, cereals, breads and pastries.

On each table was a menu for the live cooking station. Breakfast was available 6-9:30 am, lunch 12-4pm, while dinner was available from 8pm-1am. We started our day with an omelette, mushrooms, hashbrown, fresh fruit, then went back for some blueberry pancakes. We also ordered a barista made coffee which was lovely - exactly what we needed at 7am in the morning. Throughout our stopover we found ourselves snacking on their speciality dates.

Oman Air Business Lounge Muscat Bathrooms & Showers

The bathrooms located in the Oman Air Business Class Lounge Muscat have a nice touch of luxury. With the gold embellishments from the lounge also present here, along with marble style basins and large mirrors, the space felt large and very clean. We love that proper hand towels were provided, not just paper towels.

The shower suites carried the same style yet were rather small. With our carry-on suitcase and bag it was cramped to use. There is also no private toilet within the shower room.

Amenities were basic too, with a towel, comb, shaving kit, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. We do have to commend the staff, they were very attentive in keeping the bathrooms and shower spaces clean. To such an extent that you could never tell anyone had even been in the bathroom.

Overall Experience

With a variety of seating areas and luxury embellishments throughout, the lounge was a nice space to spend 7 hours, prior to flying to Doha.

We found there to be good food and drink options, very fast wifi, along with an impressive bathroom area, although we believe the shower suites could be larger and include a private toilet.
