Virgin Australia Announce Flights To Hong Kong

Virgin Australia is set to start flights to Hong Kong from Mid 2017 following the creation of a new alliance between the Virgin Australia, HNA Aviation, Hong Kong Airlines and HK Express.

The Australia – Hong Kong flight is step one of the alliance and will be followed by direct VA flights to Mainland China as well as codeshare flights between the airlines.

Virgin Australia services to Hong Kong will be operated by an A330 aircraft featuring VA’s award winning business class ‘The Business’. Departure points are yet to be confirmed, however rumour has it the flight will depart from Melbourne – we’ll let you know once we hear more!

Beyond the added convenience of additional flight options to China and Hong Kong, the alliance is good news for Velocity Frequent Flyer members with points and Status Credit earned on alliance flights and reciprocal tier status benefits available with the Fortune Wings Club, including lounge access, priority boarding and additional baggage allowances

Update 23/03/17: Melbourne has been confirmed as the point of departure and flights are now available to book, Business Class launch fares are $3459
