Etihad A380 Business Class Review

Mon, 10 Apr 2017

We flew Etihad business class to the UK recently, and were highly impressed. After enjoying a meal in the new Etihad Premium Lounge in Melbourne we boarded our A380 bound for Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways A380 and 787 planes are fitted with ‘Business Studio’ seats, providing plenty of leg room and privacy screens to create a private pod like zone.

The seats are highly customisable, with a touch screen control panel allowing you to adjust your seat pitch, cushion firmness and recline. Each seat converts into 22 inch wide fully flat bed stretching to 6 feet 8 inches long, providing plenty of room for a comfortable sleep.

The cabin is laid out in a unique 1-2-1 configuration with both forward and rear facing seats offering increased personal space and providing every passenger with aisle access.

The middle paired seats are perfect for passengers traveling together, with a retractable screen between the seats should you want privacy.

Each studio is equipped with an 18.5 inch touch screen and access to an extensive library of the latest movies and entertainment to keep you occupied throughout the flight.

Business class passengers on Etihad Airways are served by a Food & Beverage Manager who is on hand to serve you your meals as and when you want them. Your Server will also recommend wine matching and accompaniments to your meal.

We chose the Arabic Mezze plate followed by the beef tenderloin and for breakfast some fresh fruit, smoothie and passionfruit yogurt (all of which were delicious).

We were also given the holy grail of business class freebies, pj’s and slippers.

On the A380, business class guests also have access to ‘the Lobby’, a lounge bar located between the First Class Apartments and Business Studios should you wish to stretch your legs, have a chat or even host a meeting.

We thoroughly enjoyed our flight with Etihad, the seats were comfortable and spacious, the staff were very attentive and the food was great. We managed to get a bit of work done, get some sleep and enjoy some movies along the way. We highly recommend Etihad Airways business class for long haul flights.
